Antibes 8-20 April 2024 – As the spring kicks in, the Frauscher x Porsche eFantom begins its tour around the most glamorous sea and lake destinations. The first stop? Antibes, Côte d’Azur where for the first time the new full-electric Porsche Macan Electric and the eFantom are being shown and tested by journalists from all over the world.
As the all-electric Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air (or eFantom) was launched last autumn, it started making headlines for its characteristic performance and features. Today, this masterpiece of technique and elegance is placing itself as the best available electric boat on the market. Powered by Porsche and with the chiquest Frauscher design, the Frauscher x Porsche eFantom is now touring Europe being available for journalists and selected interested buyers for sea trials and dedicated explanations conducted directly with Porsche and Frauscher experts respectively.
Last week in Antibes, the days were busy and began at 8 AM when the first journalists would start their sea trials accompanied by a Porsche and a Frauscher representative and would end at 6 PM – when the last batch of journalists would re-enter the port with a smile on their faces. After running the first statistics, we have counted 248 journalists coming from 44 different countries – trying and experiencing the smooth and fast drive of the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air under the warm French sun. Stefan Frauscher, CEO of the Frauscher shipyard: „It was a great opportunity for us to present the eFantom to so many different journalists from all over the world during the official press event for the new fully electric Macan. We were particularly pleased that many of the journalists had never steered a boat before and therefore had an incredibly positive experience with the eFantom.“
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air utilizes components from the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), on which the new Macan is also based. These include a permanently synchronous electric motor (PSM) of the latest generation, whose peak output has been limited to 400 kW for use in the eFantom, and the associated power electronics. A shaft transmits the power from the electric motor to the typical marine Z-drive. The electric motor is located at the rear of the boat and the control units are housed in a water-protected box with Porsche lettering. The lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh, which is also taken from the Macan, is also located under the bed at the rear. So the journalists could test the same techical equipement on land and at sea and could realize, that both is really great fun.
