OUR SUCCESS AT THE 2023 GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

29. September 2023

The 2023 edition of the Genoa Boat Show – which has just concluded, has proven to be very satisfying for the Frauscher shipyard and its official Italian importer, Nautica Feltrinelli. During the show, the new Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air won the Design Innovation Award, and many potential boat owners have commenced negotiations.

The Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air premiered in Italy at the Genoa Boat Show. The new model received an enthusiastic welcome from the public and professionals alike. At the Design Innovation Awards Gala, the Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air won first place in the “Motorboats up to 14 metres” category. The 12-metre boat impressed the jury with its “unique and compelling interpretation of the day cruiser and the superb choice of materials and surfaces”. The Italian organisations Confindustria and I Saloni Nautici initiated the award to honour outstanding achievements in the boat industry, innovation, research and design.

This prestigious prize may be joined by others as the Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air has been nominated for the Best of Boats Award. The presentation will occur in November at the Berlin Boot & Fun trade fair. Moreover, the Frauscher 1212 Ghost is a contender for the European Powerboat of the Year accolade. This will be awarded in January 2024 during the “boot” trade fair in Düsseldorf.

More luxurious space available

Thomas Gerzer from the Frauscher shipyard, together with Stephan Everwin (SE Design) and naval architect Harry Miesbauer, reinterpreted the classic walkaround concept. With a frameless windshield and dynamic contours, the helm station forms the core of the Ghost Air’s layout. The front lounge area is flexibly convertible, and the lightweight, minimalist carbon T-top provides generous shade. The access to the interior space, including a double berth and a bathroom with shower, is integrated into the helm station’s flowing design. Even below deck, the 1.90-metre headroom ensures comfortable space management. The Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air combines Frauscher design’s classic features with advanced performance characteristics, such as the deep V-bottom, which offers exceptional maneuverability even in rough waters.

Strong interest from potential buyers

The first deliveries will begin in the spring of 2024, and the sales prospects are already up-and-coming. “We are pleased that we were able to enter into discussions with several potential boat buyers at the Genoa Boat Show, who are interested in both the new 1212 Ghost Air and other Frauscher models,” says Mauro Feltrinelli from the Nautica Feltrinelli shipyard. He highlights: “The trade fair was extremely satisfactory for us – with many test drives despite the difficult weather conditions in the opening days. We have received glowing feedback from visitors, colleagues and the press. We leave Genoa very content and will be back again next season.”
