Frauscher 1212 GHOST AIR

5. September 2023

Ohlsdorf, 5 September 2023 The new 1212 Ghost Air visibly follows the design of the enclosed sister model. The development team around Thomas Gerzer and Stephan Everwin consistently followed the philosophy of the Air series: dynamism and emotion are combined with a spacious deck area.

Managing Director Michael Frauscher, on the new model: “Trusted design, lavish comfort – we have redefined the motorboat experience in the 40-foot category with the 1212 Ghost Air.”

The free-standing, frameless helm forms the centre point of the open motorboat. The cockpit offers plenty of room for family and friends. From here, it is possible to access the interior space. As with the 1017 GT Air, the front door is integrated into the flowing design of the helm. Behind it lie the sleeping quarters for two persons plus a bathroom with a shower. The standing height of 1.90 metres ensures ample space management.

A bow to impress

From the lateral outdoor kitchen complete with fridge, sink and BBQ, the view naturally gazes across to the spacious seating and lounge area. Here, too, the developers captured the spirit of the Air models. The height-adjustable table transforms the seating area into an inviting lounge in no time. The table can be completely sunk into the ground for maximum freedom of movement or even a dance floor – fitted with a high-end JL audio sound system. This feature was adopted from the larger 1414 Demon Air and remains a truly distinguishing characteristic on the market.

T-top made from monolithic carbon

The highlight of the 12-metre motorboat is its lightweight, monolithic carbon T-top. It floats above the helm and requires no additional support poles due to its clever design. Minimalist in design, dynamic in expression, convincing in features. Alternatively, a Bimini version is offered with a stowable frame. Shade-providing elements are also available for the bow and stern. These can be erected with poles – also made from carbon – just like with the 1414 Demon Air.

Design and handling

The Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air combines classic Frauscher design features, such as the lateral air vents, with sophisticated performance. The deep V-hull is inspired by the 1414 Demon and 858 Fantom boats, known for their exceptional handling and capabilities in rough waters. The two pronounced steps enable the boat to glide more quickly and offer a quiet, dry trip. Powered by two Mercruiser petrol motors, each with 430 hp or two Volvo Penta D6-440 diesel motors with stern-drive, this boat, complete with an 850-litre fuel tank, has a range of up to 300 miles and reaches over 40 knots.

Prospective buyers can experience the 1212 Ghost Air in person at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The new Frauscher is available to order now and will be delivered to customers in spring 2024.
